wannabhealthier's Notizen, 06 Jun 18

good afternoon after having been to the doctor Friday and having my bandage changed they put Band-Aids on over the sutures to keep them covered and Monday I noticed that it was itching underneath the bandages and when I pulled the bandages off my skin where the bandages has been my skin was all bubbled up from irritation I guess so for the last couple days I've been trying to get that under control so that when I see the doctor Monday hopefully it won't be as red

haven't really been doing too much last couple days except thinking....

by the time I get this all fixed with my shoulder it might be easier just to write inside using zwift.... and knowing that nothing can jump out in front of me to cause me to have to go to this again.... maybe not as much fun but safer....

have a great day everyone

Ty MillaLite for sharing..it does help..not being able to be active like I was is hard on me...some days worse then others...more time to think...not always a good thing...to have too much time to think...trying to stay busier..but..as with everything...sime good days for pain...some bad...pain level most days is between 0 and 1...just a dull pain to let you know it's there....have cut oxycodone tabs down to one when I need it...

After open heart surgery in March of 2011 I was restricted to a recliner, one with a motor so I wouldn’t strain my sternum cause it was in half and surprise surprise surprise I lost weight. I was really puzzled so I got a notebook and tracked what and how much I ate. The American Diabetic Association had a pretty exhaustive book with lots of food and the nutritional values in it. Store bought and restaurants. In small print, very small print. For what ever reason I had reduced my food intake and it showed. However it worked so when FatSecret came along with its awesome food references it worked the same. I proved that exercise is not needed to lose weight. It helps tremendously though and I ride a bike and walk daily. 2017 and a second open heart surgery and things changed. My metabolisms ability to burn calories almost stopped. What worked before no Longer worked. Turns out it was a prescribed heart med and I asked the doc to let me stop taking it. He drastically reduced it as my heart was and is perfect and I started to drop weight again due to a lower caloric intake.

Mike, they should have put hypoallergenic band-aids on you! See if you can buy some. I have the same problem so I always make sure they know. To get rid of the allergy marks you can put a little hydrocortisone 1% cream on them. Stops the irritation. As for biking outside - I've known too many people have accidents on them. My next door neighbour was in hospital for months with his injuries - including a head injury even though he was wearing a protective helmet, etc. He used to ride with a group but he doesn't ride any more. Lucky you have the Zwift and you can walk outside to get fresh air. Just a different way of exercising 🙂
