So I'm having to come to terms with the fact that I need to go back on BP meds. It was 150/90 yesterday. Have the most horrible headache in the world today. Called the Dr. but she hasn't called me back yet.

Good news though, It's my TOM and the scale has actually gone down. :) I used to gain up to 8 pounds during this time! Scale read 235 last night, at least a few pounds of that has to be water! So hopefully I'll lose even more next week.

One last thing, I have to thank my buddies for being so supportive and nice. You guys are making this a much more positive experience for me :)

Have a great day!

Sorry to hear about the BP and headaches! It's always something, isn't it? I have the opposite problem: low blood pressure. They've been trying to put me on meds for it for over 15 years, but I'm really wary of it. Being overweight and smoking kept my problem at bay, making my BP normal. But now that I'm in shape, eating well, and not smoking it's back. It basically means I get dizzy and occasionally pass out. Fun times. It's better since I increased my sodium intake. I'm determined to beat this thing with diet if at all possible! It's nice when the scale helps you out when other things are stressing you :) Celebrate every small victory!

Sorry about your BP and the subsequent headache. Hopefully, losing a few pounds will help you reduce it on your own.

k8, It definitely is always something! lol. That sucks about you passing out! :( Glad it's gotten better since upping sodium. Try to stay away from meds if you can help it. Then it becomes a power struggle between the meds and your body. When I was on BP meds before, it made my BP way too low, so they kept lowering the doses, then it went up again and they'd have to raise this, add that, blah blah blah. Not fun lol. I was happy when I stepped on the scale this morning! lol. That doesn't happen often. Thanks sooki! It definitely makes me want to lose the weight that much more. I'm going to have to be on them for now, but my goal is to be off of them in less than 6 months. I've learned that when I reach a setback like this to just add another goal to my "list" and move along. Positive thinking has its perks :)

are you eating alot of processed foods? They hide alot of sodium in them. I've suffered from high BP in the past & when I eat alot of sodium rich foods the head aches come back.

I've been on a low sodium diet for a few months (aiming for under 1000 mg per day) and unfortunately it's not helping the situation. I allow myself high cal or sodium food every once in a while, though and I can definitely feel it later! lol Thanks for the thought :)
