Happy New Week, my Fiery Followers!

I am determined to pull myself back on track today and have my nutrition plan in place. I would like to see the bloat from extra sodium and wheat go whoosh this week.

My mood is slowly improving although it is minus 3 degrees and today's high is 5 degrees. February feels never ending this year!

And, I am off to renew my passport. My husband turns 70 this July and I have a surprise trip planned for him to Quebec City...as close to "Paris" as I could afford...LOL!

Goal Calories: 1150/1175 or less, and carbs under 25 total grams

Macros: F/60-70% P/20-30% C/5-10%

Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle - Tom Venuto

Short Range Goals: 2019
* Down on the Idiot Box while rebuilding muscle after surgery-log weekly
* Bodyfat% reading with trainer May/June/July 2019
* Drink at least 12-14 cups of fresh water daily - especially on gym days
* Continue HIIT mixed in with weight lifting five days a week
* Keep up the training notebook to achieve progressive overload

Long Range Goals: 2019
*Bodyfat at 27% or less (Current 29.38%) by summer 2019
*Longer range body fat goal is 25% - which at my age is great!
*Maintain 160lbs or less staying under goal weight in 2019
*Increased strength, endurance and flexibility during workouts

Quebec City is one of my favorite places! I've been to Paris. QC *is* very "Parisian"! I've stayed at the Chateau Frontenac (expensive!) and, last time, enjoyed the *free* visit to the posh and beautiful lobby. My last visit, I stayed in an old convent converted to a lovely boutique B&B in the old Lower Town. The city is very walkable, with wonderful architecture, outdoor cafes, historic sites, and a great farmer's market on the waterfront. You and your husband will love it! ENJOY!

Oh wow! That is cold! Canada may not be as luxurious as Paris but it’s beautiful too! Especially if you love the out doors. Although that might just be west side 😆

I remember a couple of years ago, it was so warm through February that I thought I might plant my garden early. I could have that year; we never got another serious frost. This weather is.... well... not that. :) Freezing rain tonight. Yea!! Hang in there HCB. Spring will come. I'm hopeful.

@ Brenda: What happens for me in the cold weather and long darkness is the craving for carbs which they say activates the serotonin in our brains. Carbs are not bad - but I just want the breads, grains and cereals - which is the the stuff I seldom eat and cause tummy upset, bloat and weight gain for me!

Oooooh i have always wanted to go to Quebec! Nice wife!! Glad your mood is on the upswing. Not sure if it is convenient or not, but if you can come to st. paul, como conservatory usually has a tropical plants exhibit. I think it is suggested donation of a couple of bucks. I always go a few times when winter just goes on and on. PSA for my tc metro peeps...

When it is cold and gloomy I also crave comfort foods. Chicken and noodles is a good one and so are the heavier carb soups. I try to resist and usually do. I will never be able to eat what ever I want and not gain weight, my metabolism isn't that good.

👍 My husband turns 74 in May... He doesn't want to go anywhere. I want to go see a cousin in Oregon and a good friend in Montana... We'll see what happens this year.
