Good morning!
Today is a damn-im-so-sleepy kinda day.
I slept horrible. The sinus ussue (as I'm not sure it really is a cold) is simply murder. I used a whole back of kleenex yesterday, and I just feel beyond gross. :/
I had trouble sleeping. I woke up over and over because of my nose running, and it was driving me nuts. I did, however, get some sleep. Or so I think.
I'm seriously considering staying home from work. My head is simply not in it, and being there will be torture. But still, we gotta do what we gotta do, right?
What I am NOT planning on skipping is the workout. I am 100% determinted to go to the gym. It's (almost) across the street, and it's only half an hour. I can do that, even if it drains me the rest of the day. I want to. I need to.
Because of my hard night, I got up a little late, and time is a little short for me this morning. I'm nowhere near ready for anything, and I chose to have breakfast before showering, rest room visit etc.
This means of course that my weight is not comparable with most mornings, so I decided to skip my weigh-in. I think it's all good though. After two days with two kilos off, I'm guessing that today's weigh-in would be about the same as yesterday, give or take.
We'll see tomorrow.
I did great on the calories yesterday. Since I have started using madlog.dk to count my calories, I kind of see a new focus on it. Not that I register more or less, as I have always been pretty diligent on this, but it's a different system and this alone demands that I pay a little more attention.
The calculations that it gives me are slightly different from what FatSecret gives me.
FS wants me on a 1600 calorie day (if I want a 3600 calorie Indulgence Day), Madlog wants me on 1400. So I am giving 1400 a go for now. It seems a little low, and somewhat challenging for me, but I have accomplished my goal every day since I started, even over the weekend, and even Saturday, where I skipped my Indulgence Day.
It's all about planning.
Of course, it has also helped me A LOT that I have skipped the sugar treats. I have had NO candies, cakes or chocolate since Thursday. I plan to just keep going without it, and hope to see some results on this. If nothing else, it makes it easier to maintain a 1400 calorie diet.
I like that I - in the madlog.dk system - have more meal slots. There is breakfast, morning, lunch, afternoon, dinner, evening and other. This way I can completely set up a day, with a fruit snack or something else inbetween meals. I like this, especially if I go this low on calories. I try to put it all in place before I start the day, and then I can always evaluate whether I want the particular snack or not.
The downside to the madlog.dk system is that the exercise part is utter junk. Useless. So I simply don't register it.
I kinda figure that I know what I need to do when it comes to exercise. I know that I have gym three times a week. I know I should attempt 10,000 steps (of which I did almost NONE this weekend), and I know I should stand up at work and generally move as much as I can. This is the exercise that I am comfortable with doing for now, and so far it shows results, I think. I don't SEE results, but I feel them.
Actually, I realized yesterday that when I poke my stomach, it feels like the fat layer before hitting muscle is much smaller than it was just a few weeks ago. I think this is a good sign. Belt is still in the same notch though. No change there. But still, it's a great feeling.
I appreciate all the great comments yesterday. Especially the ones about the music video - it's always nice to hear that people like it or appreciate it (even if some has to google "Deep Purple" even if they're legends, Erika). And to answer you, Rockytu, our guitarist is about 1000 ft tall, give or take. And he's only 16 years old. I have actually noticed that a LOT of the "super guitarists" our there are very tall and skinny, and have long fingers. I assume this is what makes it easier to play faster? I dunno. Maybe that's the reason that BB King is playing slow blues? lol.
Oh, and in response to the warnings about FlashForward ending abruptly, we are aware of that. I know there is no season 2, so we'll just have to deal with the hardship and the separation issues when we're done with season one (which is probably tonight). It's a shame though - it's a great story and a pretty decent cast.
Speaking of movies - we went to watch Django Unchained yesterday. What an amazing movie. Spaghetti Western all the way, Tarantino style. I know we're only just beginning 2013, but I'm already putting this one on the "Best movie of the year" list. If anything comes near it, it'll be an awesome movie year. Bring it on!
Today, I'm thankful for:
- A chance to sleep a little late. - A clear focus on hitting the gym. - Morning coffee - I need you today! :) - The outlook to a good chunk of weight off tomorrow!
Happy Monday - Life is good!
