Conclusion: Although weight regain after successful weight loss is a major problem in many individuals, relatively few randomized controlled trials have been performed exploring dietary strategies for more successful weight maintenance. Our meta-analysis shows that, currently, only diets with increased protein content have been shown to have a beneficial effect. Diets that combine a higher protein intake with other potentially beneficial strategies, such as anti-inflammatory or anti-insulinemic diets, may have more robust effects, but these have not been tested in randomized clinical trials yet. https://res.mdpi.com/d_attachment/nutrients/nutrients-11-01916/article_deploy/nutrients-11-01916.pdf
