Ok so I had to get fingerprinted for my new job, and the following is an excerpt from my conversation with the female officer doing my prints:
Lady officer: "Where were you born?" Me: "Germany" Lady officer: "And what state is that in?" Me: It's not in a state, It's Germany" Lady Officer: "So what state is it in then?" ...Me: "Germany is a country" Lady officer: "Oh so it's not in the US!" laughs Me: "yeah..."
yes, that did happen. lol.
Went shopping last night for groceries and got a lot healthy foods. I have determined that I'm eating WAY too many carbs and not enough protein, so I scoured the grocery store for sources of protein other than meat. If anyone has any other sources of protein that is convenient I'd love to know what you eat!
I think I've kicked this cold :) I'm glad. I don't have time to be sick!

Increasing protein is a good way to avoid the temptation of sweets and junk food. Good non-meat sources are eggs, nonfat cottage cheese, tofu (if you're not allergic like me), nonfat yogurt (especially Greek Yogurt), lowfat cheeses. Do you consider fish/shellfish a meat? - they are rich sources of protein. Nuts are good too, but they're kind of fatty.
