This is absolutely beautiful! You look totally wondeful and happy! A smile!!! I agree that hiking is my number one best, favorite work out! Generally, what area of the country are you at? So great to have good trails to enjoy!

Thank you guys! Melissa, I live in upstate NY. Between the Adirondacks and the Catskills, I have endless trails to explore. My friend was actually bitten by a timber rattlesnake on our hike last week - this sounds crazy, but she never felt it when it happened and neither of us ever saw or heard the snake. She was wearing tight leggings which kept compression on the wound so apparently the venom stayed pretty contained. Her leg suddenly started burning when she got undressed at home and she saw the puncture marks. She was in the hospital over night and thankfully suffered no lasting effects!

I grew up in upstate, NY. I mentioned to someone that there are timber rattle snakes in the Catskills and they thought I was just making it up. Could see the Catskills every morning on the way to work. So happy you are able to enjoy the beautiful trails and scenery

@Wholefoodnut: I went to Watkins Glen a few years ago, we had car trouble and were stuck in Binghamton overnight.
@MountainMan: this was a great loop trail! There was a side trail that led to Lake George; it didn't connect back to the main loop so we would've had to double back. Unfortunately, it was too late in the day to add 4 miles. I'll definitely be going back and exploring that trail.
@Sugar I hadn't realized we had timber rattlers up here until I saw signs at a trailhead one year! I always associated rattlesnakes with the southwest. I adore the Catskills, it's such a beautiful area.
