I have been on a modified protein diet that my husband had to go on due to a hernia operation. He went from 205 lbs to 175 lbs since June of this year. It really wasn't hard for him, and on top of that he did no exercise. His secret was no carbs except for Bran Buds and he could have one fruit per day. I was not militant about not having certain vegetables like the diet said, so he had those (eg: corn, beets). We eliminated beans and lentils, and I missed that. At my lowest, I went from 148 lbs to 141. I wanted to it my goal of 139 (my pre-pregnancy weight in 20016), but I seem to plateau at 141, and I get discouraged and start eating. I am currently 144 lbs, and am not happy about it. Getting back to the gym since the kids are back at school. I find that if I don't make it a priority, the gym loses. I find journaling does help. It keeps you focused on weight loss goals. I can't help but be jealous of my husband, but if I'm honest, he's probably eating about 600 calories less than me per day. He is a very compliant patient. When the doctor said he had to lose weight, he just did. If I did what he did, I'd probably be about 135 lbs right now. Oh well, no time like the present, right?
