It didn't happen overnight. I just walked for almost 2 years before I began strength training. Walking will help build your leg and butt muscles. It will get to the point you'll look forward to it and will up your time and speed. Sweat. It's good for you and it's like getting a buzz with the endorphins revved.

Slow. Are you at home on a treadmill? If so, begin at .50 then work your way up. There's enough to time strengthen your abs and core.
