FRUSTRATED!! After watching every calorie and going to the gym for a week straight and walking five miles this weekend, I am the same, exact weight as the day I started :( Ugh!! I'm hoping one morning I'll wake up and have a big loss, but so far the scale does not budge. I'm going to have to add more cardio and less conditioning when I go to the gym.

My fitness fanatic friends tell me that you must build muscle in order to burn more calories. The more muscle you have, the quicker you can loose the fat. Keep up on the cardio as well. Hope this helps!

I agree! Weight training has made a huge difference! I started a year ago and I'm really thankful I did! Also (not sounding conceited, I swear, please please please don't take this wrong!!!) I see girls that spend more time in the gym than I do making less progress than I am, but they're spending all their time on the treadmill, then heading straight for a mat to do abs. They're gorgeous girls and working really hard like the rest of us, just in my personal opinion, they could focus their determination and dedication in other areas of the gym as well! :)

Exercise can cause the muscles to retain water masking our losses till they get used to the exercise. Google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight fluctuations. Have you noticed your clothes becoming more loose? You can lose fat and not see the scale move (usually something is causing you to retain water and mask the loss). It could be from so many factors. The scale will eventually catch up and you will start losing. Make sure you are tracking all your food honestly. Drink water to stay hydrated.
