Question for you exercise experts. I'm 61 and according to the general rule for finding max HR (220-61 = 159) my target HR is 139. However, my resting HR is 47. I exercise heavy for 1-1/2 hrs 4-5 times a week. I routinely, although briefly go over 159 BPM. How dangerous is this?

Your best bet is to ask your primary care doctor, especially since they know your medical history
