I know a lot of people get worked up over turning 50, but not me. I'm healthier now physically and emotionally then I was in my 30's and 40's. So as far as I'm concerned, I'm just getting started.

Good for you Greeneyes. Your best bet for reality check is comparing yourself to your family.
My Dad lived to 68, my Mom to 86. That tells me that I've got 16 to 34 years to go. All dependent upon how well I take care of myself.
The nice thing about being here on Fatsecret is I can see at a glance how much Sodium I'm consuming on a daily basis. OMG! I'm more conscious of why I feel so tired, or wired at the end of the day based on how many carbs I've eaten (WOW I didn't realize).
So again Congratulations on your fresh start, and best wishes for a long and healthy journey.

I guess a 'Happy Birthday' is in order! I think being in my 50's I'm smarter, appreciate things more, and can live life better now than when I was younger. Hopefully the best is yet to come. And...Happy Birthday!

At 57 I don't let a lot of thing bother me like I did in my 20's and 30's. I am getting healthy both physically and mentally. Happy Birthday.

50 is one day older than 49. It's a number, that's all. I just turned 52. I say my age loud and proud
