My forever problem: When I work out, I am too hungry to cut calories. When I cut calories, I am too weak to work out.

I’ve been trying something different. I’ve been eating maintenance-surplus on my lift days and slightly steep deficit on my rest days. So it doesn’t affect my performance lifting! So far it’s working, it’s only been 2 weeks

I don't have that problem usually but I tried to really push my weightless and was lifting in the a.m. and doing cardio at night and any extra calorie burn was negligible because I was so hungry and eating.

I feel this way. The amount I eat can really make a difference in the amount of energy I feel I have.

I am hungrier too. Still loosing slowly with adding 100-200 calories. Trying to get more protein in with the added calories. Still learning how to balance changes in lifestyle and calories.

The struggle is real. I just had this convo with my nutrition coach. He told me to focus on lifting and scale my cardio. When I’m on top of my shit, I take a full maintenance day (2200-2300) and a higher-calorie deficit day (around 2000). I also eat around 200 carbs on heavy exercise days. It’s just enough to keep my energy and sanity in check. Right now I’m not having any problems because I’ve been eating like an asshole. What’s your calorie/macro break-down? What are you doing for training? Maybe all you need is a small tweak here or there👍.

Even on low cal days, caffeine helps me through my workouts.
