Wow I'm down 6lbs so far!!! I just started on Monday so I'm pretty excited to be down that much in so little time especially when I've not stayed under my WW points all week....wow whats that say about how much I've been eating before I started keeping track...kinda scary.

lol! Yes, scary indeed! I did the same thing - lost even though I was over my points, and that was motivating enough to keep going. As for the mountain dew, I have the same issue with coffee - these days I decided that for every ounce of coffee I drink I have to drink water to match it so that I can get some pure liquid into me even if it's on top of coffee. Also, I started adding vegetables to as many meals as I could and that is helping too. Started weight watchers in April, and lost 8 pounds altogether (not a lot!) but this week is the first time that I have actually been able to keep to the points (5 days so far) and it's tough! Good luck!

Hey Less, The Dew thing? I was totally like that with Sprite. You (at least I anyway) don't realize how much a liquid can affect your daily caloric intake (not that I even cared about it when I was doing it). Lucky for me, I think I drank so much of it that I got sick of it, and I don't drink much pop anymore. I'm trying to drink more water than I think I'm even thirsty for, and I've found that at the very least it's keeping me more awake. Anyway, thanks for the buddy add. We'll keep tabs on each other, eh? Have a really great week!

Yeah I've figured it out and I was drinking about 1 1/2 to 2 days worth of calories in Mt. Dew alone! Add in the poor food choices and double to triple portions and gee thats how I got fat lol it really did surprise me though. I never thought I ate that much but this food diary thing was a complete eye opener! I definitely need to drink more water. Abbadabba (Flinstones?) do you find that doing the water helps as far as weight loss? Congrats on sticking to your points! Hope you both have a great weekend ;)

Its funny - when I eat at home, and I pay attention to whats going in my mouth, its hard for me to eat all my points. But eat out just once, and you can use up all of that days points and more!! Its better to be a knowedgable eater than a ignorant one - your becoming the first, and thats great!

I know what you mean I figure before I started watching what I eat I was downing at least 6000 calories a day. I had to have been... lol

MomofTwGirls... I know how you feel I mean I feel like I eat all day because I never really feel hungry and yet I am always low on my calories but if I go out to eat I can easily break the bank on calories.. lol

I think the water really helps - it helps fill me up, and it also keeps my insides working. I was really thirsty at first too, when I wasn't drinking enough, and I think that was from the reduction in the volume of food that I was eating. I read somewhere that now they find that water helps with some enzyme or another that helps with weight loss too. So, I really bumped up how much water I drink and I have noticed the difference in being able to stay in my calorie range.
