Hello everyone! I am new to this community, and would love to meet some of you!

I wanted to list some lower-carb diet tips and foods that truly work to help anyone struggling. I used these tips/foods on my Atkins diet, and the result after 1 week was great! All I did was walk a trail every day, and ate under 20 carbs per day.

Reminder! - Everyone is different and has different needs, so these tips and lower-carb foods don't apply to everyone. This is just for general help and advice! :D

Tips I learned from past experience:

- Avoid salty and fatty foods & don't add much seasonings
- Don't trick yourself by buying food that is normally high carbs, but made
specially for low carb diets
- Avoid having too much low carb treats, shakes, and protein chips
- Cut out sauces from your diet
- Avoid dairy that YOU think is unhealthy - even the 4 carb yogurts! (Eggs should be fine)
- Try to only eat low sugared fruits
- Avoid salty butter and oils

Foods that will help you lose weight:

- Plain chicken
- Corn beef and cabbage
- Spinach
- Salad with only the lettuce and meat
- Pickles - you should try the munchies 1 serving size bags, they're so good!
- Jalapeno peppers - Tasty, and healthy
- Riced cauliflower
- Frozen tilapia filets

I am really hoping something here helps someone! I also wanted to say to make sure to take fiber gummies when on a low carb diet like this and even vitamins. They won't make you gain weight!

True about the plain chicken. I lost 40 lbs (190 -> 150) and was able to eat much smaller portions by changing my meals to include simpler and more satiating foods like meat and nuts with minimal seasonings. High carb foods tend to be less filling + very easy to binge. Vegetables are also great because they're so low calorie. But I find that healthy portions of fruits are not fattening, and a good source of vitamins and overall energy. Berries especially. Good list though.

That's wonderful @bullbuilder88! I also find berries really healthy. I wanted to also say that I am referring to those little bags of 8 pack nuts that are mixed and are 5 carbs - they have so much sodium and sugar its actually nuts, haha! They made me gain weight on another weight loss journey, so I discontinued those. I agree with the healthy fruits, but bananas, mangos, cherries, and oranges have so much sugar in, and everyone has told me they have actually gained weight from those fruits - which was unbelievable to me. So, I tried those fruits, and it was true!

Thanks for the help and suggestions its greatly appreciated. Its going to take alot of discipline on my part to only have 20 carbs, I tried doing 23 and I was dropping but it was a challenge to maintain 23. I will just keep trying until I master that.
