Hope yall don't mind the constant updates. I'm using this journal to keep track of how I'm feeling and the steps I'm taking. So, I tried Ensure Plus for a little bit and, while tasty and very high in calories, if has a SUPER high glycemic index. With the sugar and maltodextrin combined, it's almost 50g of sugar. Maltodextrin has a higher GI than table sugar but doesn't show up on the label as sugar, just carbs. Tricky bastids. I've tried a brand called Refocus, which is much lower in carbs and sugar, and it's been sitting well with me. I bought it on clearance at a grocery store that won't be stocking it anymore, so I started a subscribe and save on Amazon for a similar product from Orgain. All organic/grass fed ingredients. Also ordered some grass fed beef jerky for an easy source of protein.
