I have only been able to make it to the gym for strength training 1 day in the last physical week, although I did take a couple of leisure walks. My car has been in the shop...ugh. I could have done some body weight workouts from home, but every day, I expected to be able to get in a better workout the next day at the gym & didn't want to mess that better day up because of the need for recovery time. During this week... my average calories increased, along with my carbs. 🤷♀️ Maybe I needed this week for complete recovery, as I have read to take a week off every 4-6 weeks of strength training?? I was 8+ weeks in with no time like this off. Everything happens for a reason, right?! Anyway, I'm going to chalk this weeks losses up to that, full recovery...lol. 🤷♀️ I have a habit of always searching for the "why". I'm looking to have a small gain after hitting it again TODAY. Sorry about the car. No need to worry about thw workouts. Missing 1 week won't have any loss of muscle. Where are you reading to take a week of that often? If it's something you want to do and get some extra rest then go for it but I wouldn't consider taking a week off like that so often to be necessary.

you know, I had an entire week of reminders to always do my best, but that there was grace in the willingness to go with the flow... I didn't actually make it to that mindset, but I was (regularly) reminded that I might consider it... 😂

I take a week off exercise every couple months or so, then restart. My performance is better with breaks than without.
