Lost consciousness at 6 am when got up to use bathroom. Hit my head on the edge of the windowsill and then the toilet paper metal roll holder on my way down requiring 3 stitches and tho its hard to see in pic i have a small egg sized lump thats pretty impressive in person. Doc said i needed stitches and i was surprised. Split wide open. Happened 2 more times (once while getting off the ct post ct). So here’s the update. 2 ct scans with contrast (one for brain one for chest) one mri for brain it has been determined that I DO have a brain. But no evidence of stroke or tumor. Best guess after 8 hours in the hospital and bloodwork etc is that the adrenal failure ive been in for past couple of years may possibly be the culprit. In other words, they have no idea what caused it. Weirdest thing is that the 2nd time i was on my hands and knees because i was afraid to stand up (prior to going to hospital) and just sort of fell over to my right and couldnt move. Felt so odd to not trust nor be in control of my body. So no walking today and now im afraid it will happen again. Zero warning. No dizziness, no black spots. Post faint tho extremely nauseated and loads of vertigo which is ongoing. Gave iv med for nausea which worked. Good news is that all my labs came back 100%. Another day in the life. Could definitely have been worse. Was very frightening. Especially laying in bed and seeing the room spin.

Oh no! I hope you recover quickly. My friend had vertigo as a symptom of covid.

That is something I fear. So scary! I've never fainted and can't imagine what you are going through. Prayers for your recovery and hope there is follow up to figure out why that happened

Wow!!! That’s scary as hell . Happy to see those beautiful eyes are ok. Sorry that this happened to you. Have you had your ears examined. Maybe it’s a middle ear problem. Praying for a quick recovery ❤️‍🩹

That is so scary!! So what do they suggest you do in future? Be careful!! I have such low blood pressure that when I wake up in the morning I have to sit at the edge of the bed for a couple minutes or I'll pass out when I stand up. It's happened to me a couple of times on way to bathroom. Sending you hugs🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷

Ask them to check for seizure activity the feeling of vertigo and not feeling quite well before passing out is one of the things that I have. It resolved both the passing out and the feeling most of the time when I started taking my seizure medication. Apparently a lot of the times that I was passing out prior to being diagnosed with MS when I thought I was just being weak I was having seizures as well. One of the most noticeable issues though that causes it is when I'm feeling poorly and try to go to the restroom I will have seizures when I go into the bathroom because it has bright lights. I've always noticed that it seems to be around the bright lights typically in the bathroom but also around certain lamps in the home so when I'm feeling vertigo and poorly I tried to stay away from those to let my husband know that I'm feeling this way. For those of you that will think maybe you're epileptic... I thought that too I asked them to check that and when they did the test they said that I was borderline sensitive but not epileptic guaranteed they said sensitive whatever that means... so sorry that you had such a hard time of it it's a heck of a goose egg and stitches oh my! Get rest I hope you feel better soon!

Checking Dr. Google, Orthostatic (Postural) Hypotension, can be caused by Adrenal gland disfunction and/or prolonged bedrest......due to illness, injury or pregnancy. Mine came on about 4 weeks post surgery, but only lasted a couple of months, I had a recurrence of it after covid, but it was thought to be related to electrolyte imbalance at that time. Most common in the mornings when getting out of bed.

Geezzz, YOH! I know that HAD to have been scary! Hopefully, it was just a fluke! It happened to me once about 20 years ago and has never happened again. Wishing the same for you! (((HUGS)))

When preparing to get out of bed sit up with feet on the floor—pause, stand and pause then March in place a couple of times, THEN move on to the bathroom. Right now you just need to give your body a chance to adjust to a change in its position in space

Thank you all-im a little too dizzy to write back to everyone. Latest update is i felt better by the time i went to bed last night and was able to get up and use restroom with no incident a couple times. I did what my daughter suggested (and Kenna i think) and sat up for 30 seconds, then stood for 30 seconds then walked to restroom. However, at about 8:30 am i was waking up and had my eyes closed and even closed knew the room was spinning if that makes sense to anyone. I had to call hubs on my phone to come walk me to bathroom and I walked kind of sideways, leaning left. Ive been dizzy all day. Took the medication prescribed by hospital dr. (Dr Beers hows that for a name) and by 10:15 am i started vomiting. It is now 10:50 and im feeling about the same. Afraid to move. Afraid to walk. Hubs leaves for work in a couple hours and my daughter is coming over but honestly, im afraid to be alone. What if i pass out again and hit something worse? I have travertine floors and hardwood. Not fantastic to fall on. What if i hit something and i bleed out? My furry boys know something is up they have not left my side this morning. Which is unusual. I guess im not very brave. I can handle pain but this is different. Afraid to move.

Can you just stay in bed while your husband is gone? Maybe have food, water, medicine on the nightstand within reach and have your daughter walk you to the bathroom. I would also be afraid to move around. Hope the medicine works

Haha, Dr. Beers is a good one. I have a Dr. Bueno and a Dr. Love at my hospital.
