my intro into the "50's with 50-100 pounds to lose" group:

Hi, I'm Julie, turned 50 in January and I started this journey with the goal of losing the 75lb I've put on over the past 10 years. Five down, seventy to go.

I'm using my own diet, which suits me - minimal fat and carbs after late afternoon. My evening snacks are mostly raw veggies and supper is usually steamed veggies or a lean cuisine type meal.

I'm cutting down on salt and alcohol, though I did allow myself a couple drinks in the evening, now I've joined a 2-week challenge that only allows alcohol 2 days out of 7.

Where I have issues is exercise, both my schedule and my age give me problems. I just started school, today was my first day, and I'm driving over an hour each way. I tried running a couple years ago and really enjoyed it, but my knees and ankles hurt so much I had to quit (even with good shoes). So now I'm doing a little yoga and spending less time just sitting in front of the computer. It's a start.
