Good morning family and friends. At clinic this morning getting allergy shots. Made the decision yesterday to tweak my diet, implementing protein bars and protein powder daily. Anyway going to get more protein daily in order to boost my energy and metabolism.

I found that I needed actual food besides the protein bar, I only had the bar and coffee and started getting a headache and light headed. So make sure you take have something else with it.

@bunky81; I’d start off my eating 1/3 of a bar with each meal. Or getting a jar of protein powder that you can add to smoothies or oatmeal etc..

I love “protein bars” but that’s because my mindset loves snacks. I find eating real unprocessed protein fills me up much longer than any protein bars or powders in smoothies. Turkey bacon, turkey sausage, egg white omelettes are great with tomato, spinach and cheese. Cottage cheese with berries or nonfat Greek Fage yogurt with berries are all high in protein.

fact: real food like beef protein is absorbed much better. lots of the protein in the processed powder and bars is just not absorbed. make some beef jerky or egg salad. I found this out the hard way. my plasma protein was low. i experimented. I had protein shake the day before my tests and my levels were not going up. why? then i tried beef the day before. my protein levels shot up nicely. i did this many times. then I searched the internet for answers and found some studies that showed they were not absorbed well. they are also like candy for me.

@jenjabba, @FLORIDAGAL2022; Thanks for the advice and will stick to the natural proteins, as far as beef jerky can’t eat it cause of the soy products
