Minimum one minute hold on each in addition to hamstring stretches

Thanks BB me too. I had all these visions of new immobility and wasn’t liking the idea!! Hope this is the actual answer. So funny. My mom was super flexible till the day she passed away she could put her feet behind her head (yep, i asked her in the hospital and she showed me😂). I have always been stiff. Could never even do the splits. Guess i still am. Kind of bound up tight.

Mobility versus flexibility. You need both. I’m working on mine as well. I’m flexible enough, but there are things I can’t do anymore and I’m trying to get those back.

Glad to hear your getting better. I had 3 Physical Therapist quit on me my first session saying my knees were too stiff to bend without unreasonable pain. I had my teenage sons watch them to learn how they were attempting to bend my knees. They did it a few times for me but I could see in their faces they were in too much pain seeing me in that much pain, so I quit asking. Finally came up with a plan to bend a 10 foot long 1-inch steel conduit so it loops under my knees and along the outside of my thighs to a bend up at the hips to make handles I can pull back on to lift my knees by myself and stretch them into a bend at a level of pain I can deal with without involving others. I ask for the parts (Covered with pool noodle) and the build for my birthday near the end of last month. The stretching has made a huge difference already. I think I will be able to sit in a chair again within just months with how much the limit to my bend has increased so far. I can see and feel how much stretching has helped me now. So I'm wishing you also have continued success stretch buddy.

Yippee oh my goodness the journey you are on. Im such a fan of your fighting spirit. I cannot wait till you say you can sit in a chair and then hopefully can stand and walk maybe with a cane. Each day tell yourself you will do 5 more minutes of movement at a minimum than the day before. Track it. Hold yourself to it. I found it was best for me to do it first thing in the morning when i was recovering or the chore would hang over my head with a bit of dread attached. Do the movements. Record the movements and pat yourself on the back (and eat judiciously and hydrate of course). Hugs to you my friend.

Katsolo its no joke the body tightening up. Im fighting the good fight. Im so grateful for hubs and the pups because i think there are many times where i would avoid walking or working out without the push from hubs or the hopeful look on pups faces for a walk. Im pretty sure you know that look 👀 well 😃

Loveofflamingos-my goodness you are dealing with a lot! I have bulging discs L4, 5, 6 and 7 and have to say that getting the weight off has made the pain so much better. Often i dont even think about it these days till hubs rubs my back and i realize it is sore. I hope that for you. Appreciate the input.

Badjujugirl-thanks girl! I have not been recording weight for past few weeks as it has been bouncing around 136-138 so just recording every now and again. Hoping i can get myself past weighing daily and move it to weighing weekly and then monthly tho i doubt it. Every time i quit weighing daily my weight creeps up tho never happened to the degree it did when i got sick (now 10 years ago). I no longer consider myself a person with a progressive disease. Although it is lurking in the background i feel fantastic most of the time.

Chicago Ken i can still remember a time when i never thought about my body, weight, composition etc. i was 15. I know why i became obsessed i just dont know how to fix it or if it is even possible. It’s very unhealthy. I wish you luck if you figure it out let me know 😀

Glad you are having some relief! I wonder what it is exactly? My trainer always makes me warm up before we train. She is a stickler about that!

Diana i walk 3 miles before i get there and spend 5-10 stretching before i get together with her so im sure thats not it. It’s always something 😊. How’s the vacay going? Looks amazing from what i can tell.
