So, as I had an hour wait at the school yesterday, between job no. 1 and job no. 2, I decided to take a look at my buddy list, and possibly do a little house cleaning.

I removed a lot of buddies, and it made me sad. I basically went to look at when people were active last time, and took off those who have not weighed in for several months. I think this should be a fair way to do it, as this will remove people who isn't using fatsecret anyways.

Now, this is important to me: If you read this and realize that I took you off, but you'd like to stay - please just send me another buddy request. I still accept anyone who's interested, I just needed to de-clutter.

What was a little upsetting was the fact that I saw several people who have been VERY active here, who were doing good, and who simply stopped. I see a few frustrated journals, and then... nothing. I guess they quit.

There is no super easy way to do this. There are no miracles. There is only effort. If we want to reap the results - and they're beyond worth it! - we gotta put in the work. It's as simple as that.

However, I saw so many buddies that were doing so good. Then I see them gain for a few days (or weeks) and instead of shaping up and taking the challenge, they gave up.

Buddies, please don't let that happen! We pretty much all know what needs to be done - it's just a matter of doing it! When things get tough, talk to your buddies. When things are easier, talk to the buddies who need help! We're all in this together!

So, how did I do on the scale this morning? Well... guess what! I am now back in the 70's! Today I weighed in at 79.5 kgs! I hope I can stay this time, though I'm sure after Indulgence Day I will have a little peek back into the 80's. I'll be okay with it, as long as I know that I've done okay. Just gotta make sure that I WILL BE DOING OKAY.

Indulgence Day this week comes a day early, this Friday. It's Daughter's 18th birthday, and we're going for sushi with some friends. The sushi itself I'm not worried about. It's great food, very fulfilling, and relatively low on the calories. What concerns me is the soy sauce. Sushi without it is no fun for me, but it has so much salt! Normally, I let the sushi soak a moment in it before having it, but I think I'll need to rethink that. I think I'll have to simply drip a little sauce onto it instead, so have less. I don't want to gain 2 kgs of water overnight just because of that.

Let's see how it goes.

Today is an easy day at work. I have no face-to-face interviews. I have a few done by phone, but those are the easy cases.

A day totally different from yesterday, which was VERY stressful. I had to do some tough calls, and those are never fun. I got through it though, and my work mentor assured me that I was doing the right thing, so I can deal with it. Sometimes we need to push people in the right direction, and they don't always see it at that moment. Hopefully they'll see it later.

Today I'm thankful for:
- early morning exercise bike ride.
- an easy day at work coming up.
- a GREAT night's sleep.
- morning coffee.

Life is good!

I can't believe it's daughter's birthday already - seems like only days ago that you were wondering when to give her gift to her. Hope you have a truly fantastic celebration day - not only do you inspire me as a dieter and writer, but also, and hugely, as a committed and loving family man. Have a great weekend x

Mmmmm sushi! That is certainly one food that I miss now that I eat low carb. Hmm, it may just have to be my pick on my next cheat day. I have been that person who disappears from here. It was truly an awful time in my life and I am so glad that I chose to come back here and get on track. I hope that those others who have left find their way back or find some other type of support. FS and all of the support and encouragement that I have found here has made a great difference in my journey.

I want to start off by saying I LOVE FS and all the support and encouragement this community brings. There are days I am frustrated and discouraged and I log on and read journals and realize it is not just me that has off days where I would rather sit on the couch with bon bons and a bag of chips. I also love all of the ideas and tips I get from everyone. I love reading your journal and following your journey. Second thing. I LOVE sushi. (actually having some tonight I think) My thinking on the salt content is this. I usually am right on target sometimes above, sometimes below on my allowed sodium for the days so it pretty much evens out. I do not soak my sushi in it anymore but instead I drizzle it over the top and put it in my mouth upside down so the soy sauce is on my tongue and I get the wonderful flavor even if it means that I am going to be high on sodium and gain a pound or two of water weight, I know it is water weight so I don't stress about it.. Hope you have a great time celebrating your daughters 18th Birthday!

It is so sad to see people do well and then suddenly let everything fall apart. I always say that a higher weigh in isn't indicative of failure. As long as we keep working towards our goal, even if we have a few setbacks along the way, then we're still on a winning path. I wish there was a way to show those people that everything they wish for is possible, but I guess the only way to show them is to do it myself and leave all the records here on FS as proof of how I succeeded in the hope that one day they'll help someone else succeed.
