Yesterday was good right up until the spaghetti. My 20 year old son decided he would bring me dinner yesterday. He almost never volunteers to bring dinner and I didn't want to hurt his feelings and I also wanted to encourage his thinking of others. He brought spaghetti from our favorite Italian joint. Loaded with cheese mushrooms and extra meatballs. And a side of buttery, homemade Italian bread. So I decided I would just eat a little and let him know how much I appreciated it and put the rest in the fridge for my husband when he got off work.
I stuck to my original plan but then the incredible munchies hit me an hour later. I could not stop eating. I guess the starch raised my insulin levels or something. I tried drinking a lot of water because I had heard that helps but it didn't. I ended up almost 500 calories over my RDI. I decided I would just cut back those calories the next day. I don't know if it will help but I will find out when I go back to the dietitian next week. Trying really hard to be good the rest of the week.

Even with the McDonalds fiasco at 2am I finished pretty well yesterday. I'm off to a good start today. It was too hot to do much block walking but I did manage to work with the dogs for about 45 minutes in the back yard. We worked on leash training so it did involve a lot of walking but it wasn't sustained walking. I guess it beats sitting in the recliner though. Its supposed to be the same with the temps today so I will probably do the same thing but today I am also doing heavy housework...cleaning ceiling fans, scrubbing floors, etc. I started off with a good breakfast so I am looking forward to a good day.

Okay, so today my diet sucks. I ended up at the ER with my daughter until 4:30 am. At about 2 am I got hungry. I was stressed out and I didn't have any healthy snacks. The only thing open was McDonalds. I wanted coffee but not hot so I got a frappe. I knew I shouldn't have but did it anyway. I also a chicken sandwich, which as it turns out is not terrible by itself. Then when I get back to the ER, Laura decides she wants to eat and asked if I would go get her some nuggets and her boyfriend wanted fries. So when I get back the fries smelled so good, I got me some too...a large. OMG I didn't eat them all, only about half but I logged in the whole thing anyway on my food diary. That little excursion left me with only about 400 calories for the day. Its amazing what fast food can do to you. When I woke up I felt like crap. Nauseated and heartburn. No wonder I don't really miss fast food...but the smell of the fries is so scrumptious!
So, I ate watermelon for lunch. I will eat something light for supper and try to stay as close as I can to my RDI and I will try to get out this evening and do some walking and I will do some extra reps with the weight bearing exercises.
Tomorrow is another day.

I did much better today. I wrote down everything before I ate it and I concentrated on eating filling and lean foods. I didn't exercise at all today aside from some housework which really isn't exercise. I was really tired this morning so I ended up taking a nap. Probably leftover from yesterdays carb binge.
