Yesterday was good right up until the spaghetti. My 20 year old son decided he would bring me dinner yesterday. He almost never volunteers to bring dinner and I didn't want to hurt his feelings and I also wanted to encourage his thinking of others. He brought spaghetti from our favorite Italian joint. Loaded with cheese mushrooms and extra meatballs. And a side of buttery, homemade Italian bread. So I decided I would just eat a little and let him know how much I appreciated it and put the rest in the fridge for my husband when he got off work.
I stuck to my original plan but then the incredible munchies hit me an hour later. I could not stop eating. I guess the starch raised my insulin levels or something. I tried drinking a lot of water because I had heard that helps but it didn't. I ended up almost 500 calories over my RDI. I decided I would just cut back those calories the next day. I don't know if it will help but I will find out when I go back to the dietitian next week. Trying really hard to be good the rest of the week.

Okay, so today my diet sucks. I ended up at the ER with my daughter until 4:30 am. At about 2 am I got hungry. I was stressed out and I didn't have any healthy snacks. The only thing open was McDonalds. I wanted coffee but not hot so I got a frappe. I knew I shouldn't have but did it anyway. I also a chicken sandwich, which as it turns out is not terrible by itself. Then when I get back to the ER, Laura decides she wants to eat and asked if I would go get her some nuggets and her boyfriend wanted fries. So when I get back the fries smelled so good, I got me some too...a large. OMG I didn't eat them all, only about half but I logged in the whole thing anyway on my food diary. That little excursion left me with only about 400 calories for the day. Its amazing what fast food can do to you. When I woke up I felt like crap. Nauseated and heartburn. No wonder I don't really miss fast food...but the smell of the fries is so scrumptious!
So, I ate watermelon for lunch. I will eat something light for supper and try to stay as close as I can to my RDI and I will try to get out this evening and do some walking and I will do some extra reps with the weight bearing exercises.
Tomorrow is another day.
