I'm reading a thread on the Atkins forum. The poster was stalled for
eight months
. And I've been whining about not losing for two weeks? What a baby!
I also think that, as big as I am, I'm not getting quite enough calories. My
BMR
is 2176. My
activity level
is moderately active (moderate exercise 3-5 times per week).
According to this, my daily energy expenditure is 3372.8.
However, the page itself has a caveat that it will overestimate calories for the very fat (which I am), but not by how much.
Would it be safe to assume 3000, maybe? Or should I just keep trying to come in about 20% less than the RDI Fatsecret has suggested for moderate weight loss?
Numbers... they are not my strong point.

I got my free Atkins Starter Kit today. It comes with a carb counter book (pocket- or purse-sized!) and three of the Atkins bars. I mostly wanted the carb counter book. I have mixed feelings about the Atkins bars. Did Dr. Atkins himself think these were a good idea?
At any rate, I'm going to keep them in the purse just so I have a snack in there besides almonds. I get the feeling they are one of those things best consumed in moderation.

My weigh-ins for the last two weeks:
315.5, 315.9, 316.1, 315.4, 315.6, 314.3, 314.3, 314.4, 313.5, 314.6, 315, 314.3, 315.2, 315.4, 316.1
I am doing everything I'm supposed to be doing. I didn't go to the gym last night because my shin was hurting from what I can only describe as me working as hard as I can. But here I am, with the number up, no bacon, very little cheese, one cup of coffee a day (which is giving me unbelievable caffeine withdrawal right now). I've been trying to pick up my calories the last few days, but if the rising numbers are any indication, I'm eating more than I
want
for nothing.
I wonder if this is because I've done low-carb before? My body is saying, "Yeah, we know what this is. Nice try"?
Ugh.

My weight is climbing slightly everyday. :( I am working on increasing my caloric intake so I don't go into starvation mode (I don't see how that's possible anyway... as much as I have to lose).
I had no bacon today and am cutting caffeine consumption down to half. This is ridiculous... it feels like I'm doing everything right and I'm gaining/stalling anyway.
