I have been in crazy shape lately. My medications that have the delightful side-effect of making me sleep weren't doing that Thursday night. By 5:00 Friday morning, I realized I hadn't nodded off at all. When I got up to turn off the alarm clock, my skin -- from my calves to my insteps -- felt extraordinarily tight. I hadn't stood up for a good
eight hours
: my ankles were twice their usual size, and my insteps were even higher than usual! Even after keeping them elevated for 4 hours, I couldn't see any progress, so, after taking the bus up the hill, buying groceries, and carefully walking back, I went to bed. By Saturday morning, everything was back to normal.
>Whew!<
Speaking of Saturday, what's the best reason/excuse to eat a pint-and-a-half of Trader Joe's frozen coconut ice "cream" each day? Answer: fits of incessant sneezing. By Saturday night, my nostrils were bleeding, so I put the last of my no-chemicals Aloe Vera gel on a cotton swab, and eased it up a nostril to that spot where everything hurts. Of course, I had to hold that one shut for a couple of minutes, until the stinging stopped (it has citric acid as the preservative, its only other ingredient). And, of course, sleeping on my back. On Sunday, I remembered about the nerve that runs from the back of the mouth past the nose, on its way to the brain. Sure enough, the frozen dessert numbed that nerve, and, for a few minutes I had sneeze-less peace. Then, it started all over again. Gotta find a new brand of Aloe gel, as the first kind has added a lot of unpronounceable things to their new "recipe". Monday was the same, but Tuesday, I had stopped with the sneezing: yay!
I have no idea what else I ate those days. I'm just glad that free breathing is restored.

I have been in an excessively good state, for a 62-year-old lady that pulled an all-nighter, that is. About 4:30 this morning, I realized what time it was, and also noted that I had been "not wanting to go to sleep" all night, which made me wonder. At 4:45, it dawned on me: since I recently tested negative for all my food allergies except eggs & dairy, I'd decided to try fish for the first time in my life. On my way back from the pharmacy yesterday, I bought a packet of spicy salmon bits, and ate that for dinner. Apparently, my not wanting to go to bed stemmed from a life-long fear of dying from eating fin fish. OMG, OMG, OMG, I then realized that I had
no
symptoms. What. So. Ever!!!!!!! Woo hoo! Woo hoo! Woo hoo! Woo hoo! Woo hoo! Woo hoo! I'd been so thrilled, that it fueled me all day long!
So
that's
what fish tastes like.
Hope I can fall asleep soon, since tomorrow is Get Up Way Too Early To Do The Laundry Day. Somehow, I think that may not be much of a problem...

The essential oils worked!!!!!!! A nice, deep sleep is
so-o-o-o-o-o
good. Yesterday, I woke up yelling, "I am not comfortable!" but today I woke up feeling mellow, dude. :-)
That Kalamata olive oil did NOT taste good with the turkey burger yesterday, so I added a little wasabi powder today. Too little, as it turned out: I couldn't taste it at all. Tomorrow, more wasabi powder!
Annnnnnnd, the chiropractrix did a complete rundown, head to foot, telling me that I'd really jammed the heel. Yup, I told her, I landed on every single step with that foot because the other foot was trapped behind the carton. My limping along at 0.00005 miles per hour to get there changed to gently walking at 2 miles per hour to get home.
I love chiropractic!
Then I took the bus up to Trader Joe's to get some avocados and turkey burgers. And a package of plums. And a box of Crimini mushrooms. And a mango. {I think I was hungry ;-)} Then I saw that the bus home was
thirty minutes away
, and decided that the burgers would thaw less if I just limped home, so I did. Sure enough, I got home long before the bus came barrelling down the hill. Tomorrow, I think I'll (carefully) walk up to the cross-town bus stop instead of taking a bus there. This could be the start of something good, as they say.
There will be more Lavender-blend oil application tonight. And some Copaiba-oil-application to the underside of the heel as well.

Snarfed an enormous amount of calories today because gimping around on crutches really takes it out of me. Especially this time around, since I landed on the wrist of the same side as the seriously jammed heel. I kept putting my weight on my underarms in order to give my wrist a rest. Ugh, these crutches make me feel like such a dork: they're metal, they clang, and, because I bought them when I lived in Anchorage, they have those ice-puncturing thingies that fold up when not in use. Those ice-puncturing thingies remind me of Pocket Protectors, which is probably why I feel so dorky.
Be that as it may, I had a nice chat with the building manager. We'll see if it does any good...
Lavender, Clary Sage, and Sandalwood Essential Oils, mixed with Jojoba Oil and rubbed
generously
on the shoulders, pecs, and upper arms oughta take this
major
pain out and relax these
massively
cramped muscles.
I hope!
Oh, and a bit of Sandalwood and Lavender under the nostrils, to aid in falling asleep!
