Been an up and down week, kids b-day lots of cake etc. but got back on the bandwagon frustrating to see scale go up and down. Goal is to lose 10 lbs per month. Took 13 years to gain 75 pounds have to keep reminding myself it is not going to come off in 13 days.

another 3 lbs yeah!! I am enjoying my new diet, not losing as quickly as I would on Atkins, but I stick to this better, so hopefully in the long run it will be better. I can open the cupboard and have an array of choices carbs or no carbs,. Need to get a run in today as missed yesterday,

Yeah!! 2 more pounds it seems I work so hard for those pounds, but seeing the scale move makes it all worth while.

Well, still 253.5, sticking with my diet, it is frustrating not to see the scale move quickly especially since this is the first week, and typically I can lose up to 9 pounds the first week. but since I am determined to go it alone and learn to eat for my body i am not getting discouraged. continued my running program, boy am I our of shape, but once I get my lazy butt onto the treadmill I really enjoy it. I am dripping in sweat by the time I am done. This week my running schedule is to walk 90 seconds and then run 60 seconds repeat this for 20 minutes. Decided to measure myself bust 48 waist 45.5 hips 52. Wow, additional goal, lose 10 inches off of each measurement

I am into my diet a couple of days and have lost 1.5 pounds.
I have decided against following any particular name brand diet, and have decided to go my own way and figure out a way of eating that I can follow happily. In the past I have been very successful the first 2 - 3 weeks of following a name brand diet, but then find it too difficult to work into my real every day life. So I am trying to get real about what works and doesnt for me. The first big step is to cut out pop, in particular coke, I LOVE IT, but it doesnt love me, In fact I can easily drink 2 - 3 cans a day, as it gives me the energy push that I need to keep going. I know carry rice cakes with me and a bottle of water, and while not as satisfying as a can of coke and a chocolate bar, they do do the trick when I am hungry and need a quick fix without haveing the time to stop and make a proper meal.
The second thing I have done is started following a couch to 5k running plan. If followed I should be able to run 5k in 2 months, realistically i think 4 months will be more reasonable for me, considering my current weight. My current size is and 18 - 20. I have a summer dress hanging in my closet that I bought 2 years ago one size to small, and this is my goal dress for the end of the summer. It is a size regular 15, not a plus 15. This to me is an important distinction, as I have made it to a 16 before, but always in the plus section not regular section. So for the end of the summer that is my goal to make it to a regular size 16.
