Well the scale said 226 this morning and then it said 217 - perhaps I have a special scale that foreshadows the future? LOL - regardless I'm going with 228 for today :-)

Well the last week has been bizarre. I watched the scale creep up a few pounds and couldn't understand why. I record everything I eat and I even over-estimate when I'm not sure. Well then I went back and looked at my daily caloric intake and I wasn't even hitting 1200 which is the magic number to keep your body from going into starvation mode.
Doh! I'm an idiot - but what a good problem to have! I am adjusting my diet to try to eat less processed carbs and increase my protein.

Wow - my dilemma is currently that I need to get my caloric intake up. Since I totally changed my eating habits I'm not getting close to 1200 calories (unless I've splurged and had some alcoholic beverages) consistently. What does 1200 represent? Ah- I shall tell you! 1200 is the minimum amount of calories a woman (1500 for the guys) should consume each day. If you go below that your body will begin to shut down and start converting those calories to fat because it's now in self preservation mode. My goal isn't just to add empty calories - sure a snickers bar or cheesecake would solve that issue right quick but I want to make sure my fuel intake is of substance. Biggest road block is that I don't eat breakfast so I am going to have to just force myself to do it.
