It has been quite some time since I've posted a Journal Entry, but that isn't because I've given up. In fact, I finally found THE way for me, that has allowed me to lose 36 pounds, with no cravings and being able to eat so much food that sometimes I don't feel like eating it all. I discovered that I am addicted to sugar and flour, so I went cold-turkey and stopped eating all types of sugar, sugar substitutes and flour. As a result, since January 2021, I've been eating this way, and my doctor was thrilled. He has been trying to persuade me to give up sugar for years. My triglycerides came down to normal levels, as did my total cholesterol and glucose. On maintenance I have been adding more food, just trying to maintain this level. I weigh and measure everything that goes into my mouth, eat plenty of vegetables, fruits, lean protein and the good fats, like almonds, avocado and olive oil. I also use real butter; no margarine. I tried to upload a photo, but it was taking so long, I couldn't do it.

It has been quite awhile since I've made an entry; probably because I have been struggling. But this week is going to be a good one. Today I discovered chickpea pasta. I was looking for whole wheat pasta but couldn't find any. That was probably a GOOD thing. The chickpea version is tasty, and I don't put sauce on it; just a little margarine. Your journal entries are inspiring. Keep it up!

After years and months of struggling, I think I finally reached the point that I have to change some of my food choices. For example: ditch the Coffee mate. It is full of chemicals and sugar and probably starts me off craving sugar. Also reducing my carbs and the type I eat. I believe we need foods from every food group; denying any food makes us craving them. Right now, I'm eating 1,200 calories, and feeling satisfied. Will let you know if the weight comes down.
