All is well; I'm just a bit confused! I'm considering changing my goal weight to 170 lbs. Using my BMI, I should weigh 160. Right now at 5'8"-192 and wearing a size 12, I feel that may be a bit too thin for me. All I wanted was fit into a size 10 on a good day. I never had big hips or thighs; I just gain weight on my stomach. Now that I lost 5 1/4 inches off my lower abs I'm not fixated on pounds. People have noticed my weight loss and are surprised that I weigh 192; they think it is far less. So which is the healthiest thing to consider: inches or pounds? I must say even though I know better, psychologically when I step on the scale and see

Which scale is best, analog or digital? I just purchased a fancy digital scale on eBay that gives you BMI, Hydration and so forth. I can never get an exact on my analog. If I step on it 5 times I can possibly get 5 different weights and it's a fairly new scale.

My whole attitude has changed and I am no longer focused on losing a lot of weight in a short period of time. I'm losing slowly but I'm losing and that’s o.k.; if I lose 4 lbs a month in 5 months that will be 20 lbs. I think for me losing at a slower pace will allow me to maintain the loss. The good thing is that I'm losing inches so I'm happy about that. I guess that is where the consistency with exercise pays off. I'm wearing my favorite size 12 levis.
Sometimes it looks like nothing is happening with my weight because the reflection in the mirror looks the same but scaled down a little if that makes any since. Everything looks smaller but the outline is the same (stomach). I guess that's the psychological part of weight loss, the body image stuff. I only weigh in every 2 weeks or so.
I feel good about this journey. My health has improved. My whole family has made the transition with me. Eating low carb is gradually becoming a way of life for us. We are less focused on counting carbs it is ingrained now.
