Start of Week 3 of Atkins and start of Week 2 for P90X. Have been eating well but not keeping track. Kids are gone this week so I have no excuses for not being on point with everything-exercise, meals, and journaling. I can say I am enjoying my workouts, (maybe not EVERY second, but I missed 2days this week and kind of missed them! I take that as a very good sign!) Also, found myself looking forward to sitting down and planning my meals for the week. I know I've heard it takes 23 days, 30 days, 90days to make a habit. (For me, probably 90days, but I feel the ball is starting to roll, and whatever it takes, I'm glad even the slightest changes are starting to happen.

P90x Arms and Chest completed plus Ab Ripper before 5 in the afternoon. Toni says in the beginning of Ab Ripper that there r 339 situps in the workout, at the end he says 349! I don't think I actually made either one of those numbers, but still got a killer workout! Kids are gone for a week starting tomorrow. Looking forward to my workouts without major scheduling having to be done! Hope everyone is doing well!!

LOL..This was my BIO but it told me there was a 2000 word max. Will have to edit and try doing my bio again later..In the mean time, here is the unedited version--
Hello Everyone..I am a married mom of three who lives in Arizona. I have always had to "watch" my weight but never was obese. About 5 years ago, I suddenly gained 60lbs in 6months. After 100's of doctor exams and tests, I was diagnosed as... perfect health. EVERYTHING in the best range I could possibly have. This went on for 3 years (with many diets in the meantime, HCG, Weight Watchers, Atkins, South Beach, In-Side Out Diet) all to no avail.
Two years ago, I had to close my business. (They just weren't making as many million dollar homes anymore!!) (Faux finishing, murals, venetian plaster etc). I went from climbing up and down ladders, lugging 50lb buckets around, and being on my feet 8hours a day to sitting at a desk in front of a computer all day long. You would think not being your own boss would be the hardest part to get adjusted to, but really it was the sitting at a desk all day long. Needless to see your body adjusts to just about everything, and "2years of sitting" later, I have gained an additional 40lbs. Not for lack of trying any diets.
I was finally diagnosed with hypothyroidism, a low testosterone level, and an extremely low vitamin D level. I have myxedema which is just a silly word for extreme edema due to a thyroid issue. In other words, my feet looked like pregnant feet. At this writing I am 10 days into the program and 8lbs lost, but I know most, if not all due to water retention. I don't mind if it's all water though because my feet are already feeling better!
I think the medicines/vitamins/hormones are truly helping. I have reached the point in my energy level that I don't collapse onto the couch when I get home. (I was so tired that I actually fell asleep at my desk one day and was dreaming I was driving but was too tired to keep my head up to see where I was going!!) That was the turning point for me. I knew I had to find a doctor to help me. (I am seeing a very enlightened MD and a Naturopath.)
The #1 thing that I have discovered (AGAIN) is that I have to prepare my foods ahead of time. I take 3-4hours on the weekened for shopping, preparing, and cooking many of my foods for the week. (Especially breakfasts and lunches that I take to work.) As long as don't let myself get hungry, I don't have too many cravings which lead me to eat any and everything.
My biggest fear at this point is quitting. (I have done it so many times before!) This site has helped tremendously, so I am taking it one week at a time and saying lots of prayers that this becomes a lifestyle change for me
