It was all fun and games until the duck fell off the deck. Seriously. I had a fantastic weekend. We stood in line for 2 hours, for sausage on Saturday and yes - it was worth it. No one else around here makes sausage like they do. We also go beef jerky and fresh beef sticks. I forgot to bring tortillas, but the group was cool about going low carb. I didn't eat a lot of fruits or veggies but definitely got enough protein this weekend.
I tried to be good, I really took it easy on things like chips. There was definitely a balancing act between the drinking, trying to watch what I ate, and swimming. I made myself drink a ton of water and always had ice in my glass. I felt a little run down yesterday but it turns out it was hormones. This is the first year I was able to run around in a bathing suit and felt confident. I had someone ask me if all I did was ab exercises now that my girls are grown up, lol. Back to the grind tomorrow. I have a big hunk of beef in the slow cooker for shredded beef tonight.
We talked, swam, played corn hole, and sang songs around the campfire. The last morning, my friend's 4 week old duck got through the slats on the 2nd story deck and fell and broke it's leg. Poor little fella. Other than that, it was pretty much a perfect weekend of relaxing and fun. This is the only picture I made it into, as I was usually behind the camera.
