africk1229's Notizen, 04 Mrz 13

Still doing well- I haven't been journaling my food quite as much as work has been INCREDIBLY hectic.

I hadn't had a strip of bacon in like 2 months--had a piece Saturday morning and I was surprised that I really didn't like it all that much! I think my body has gotten so used to having a banana and piece of whole wheat toast with peanut butter for breakfast the bacon was like "ICK!!! GREASE IN THE MORNING---NO THANK YOU!"

Veggie sticks & hummus have been a low-calories healthy alternative for me--especially when I want something crunchy or salty--like CHIPS!! Apples, grapes, and sliced strawberries are perfect for curing my sweet tooth cravings. Maintaining the calories can be tough--but making healthier choices allows me to eat more food without eating a ton of calories!

I'm beginning to like the way my body looks again. My original goal was for 125 pounds--and I do think I would like to get down to that weight. I think a more noticeable (and more difficult since I HATE EXCERSIZE) change would be to tone up. I know, I know--muscle weighs more than fat so it would make weight loss a bit more difficult--but I really think it would make me look a lot better and feel more confident. We shall see. I'm thinking I'll aim for losing another 4 pounds (put me at 130) and then start looking at ways to tone.

In the meantime--I'm liking my healthier diet! I feel like I have more energy and my mood has improved. No more ground beef at the house--if I must eat ground something it is turkey (breast when I can afford!). Went from whole milk to 2%--I'd like to switch over to soy, almond, or at least skim--but the men in the house won't have it. They drink more of the stuff than I do so, hey--I lost that battle. Speaking of the men--I'm trying to get both my son and husband on the healthy eating bandwagon. My kiddo is loving having fresh strawberries and yogurt with his cereal in the morning--and I am sooo glad he didn't put up a fight when the pop-tarts went away.

Wish me luck as I continue to eat and live healthier!
