crabby Kat's Notizen, 10 Dez 13

Someone give me a boost back up onto the wagon, puhleeeeeze? ;o)

Something seems to have happened on the way to my smallest-ever slacks that I didn't fit into for Thanksgiving. I've been working out too much with my right arm; the one that stirs the cookie dough & lifts the cookies to my mouth, lol.

On a more serious note, tomorrow I go see my new orthopedic surgeon about my left knee (possible knee replacement?). This has been weighing on my mind and spirit as the pain increases. The joy I find in Zumba is a bit less as the pain worms its way in, slowing me down. So much of my social life is built around exercising. My friends won't desert me, but they will be busy with Zumba, Pilates, etc.

Last week I got a bunch of floaters in my right eye, interfering with my vision. I was afraid it was from my multiple sclerosis, but got in to see an ophthalmologist who assured me it was "just" floaters, then gave me a warning to call immediately if this or that happened, & I have a follow-up appointment on Jan. 2. In the mean time, the vision in my right eye is still sort of spotty and blurry.

Thursday I drive my partner to have diagnostic lumbar injections, looking at the possibility of relatively minor surgery to relieve lumbar stenosis & foraminal stenosis. The pain that my partner lives with daily contributes to the stress of working from home.

I'm looking forward to some pain relief from my physical therapy in an hour or so. I am enjoying baking for friends; just need to stop sampling so much! Not to mention sampling the biscotti that partner's son-in-law bakes every year around Christmas; he's an awesome baker.

My partner will spend Christmas week with family in California; I'll spend it with my cat and my Zumba instructors and friends. As well as my extended family for Christmas Eve Dinner!

One of my instructors is teaching the morning of Christmas Eve, and then having a 90 minute Zumba party the day after Christmas. I plan on being there for both. :o) If need be, my new surgeon can suggest a better knee brace for me, right?

I'd better get up & get moving, do a few stretches, before driving to physical therapy.

So nice to see a journal from you but so sorry you are having issues and that pain continues and that you are facing possible surgery. The joy never ends does it? You sound in good spirits despite all the crap that's going on. Enjoy as much as you can, live each day to the full. And thanks for stopping in and saying Hi.
