SPRING CUT - DAY 51
11 Hours Fasted

Challenging couple days on multiple simultaneous family fronts. Not going to go into it, but suffice it to say that both generations that I support had highly emotionally charged experiences with potentially life changing consequences. Take those events, throw in their considerable implications for me, a major project that took a sideways turn on Friday, three days of fasting, working all weekend, the Ex seemingly on the verge of a psychic break and in full scapegoat mode, and the worst case of sundowners I have seen and, well, I dunno, I guess I found my limit.

Broke fast around 72 hours on Saturday and never looked back. Haven't finished counting yesterday yet, but that alone is probably close to 5k. No big. These things happen.

Kept the eating within like a 4 hour window. (Not intentionally, it's just the norm for me at this point.).

Good news is that said challenges have revealed some character of the most positive sort. Super proud of #2 son. Wielding skills it took me the better part of 50 years to acquire.

Other good news is that I feel great. Fed. Super rested. Storm's past (fingers crossed). Sun's out, literally and figuratively. Clear paths forward.

And I look OK at 192. Pleased with where I am at. Not finished, mind you, but comfortable in my own skin again. The only thing with which I remain uncomfortable is the waistline. Couple more inches gotta go and stay off. At the end of the day, I think I need to keep my BF% under 12% or so year round. Cut to under 10 in the Spring. Cycling from 20‰ to 10‰ every year, or attempting to, is not the best.

Recomp starts on or about April 1. Early May event, so need at least a month's work in. Want to make another cut down before heading back to the squat rack, but have one key, high stress, gating hurdle to get past first. Couple days max. After that, I think I should be able to shift to some projects that are more conducive to fasting - and by that I mean solo work.

The other learning from all this is that in the absence of lifting, I lack a physical outlet sufficient to battle the stress of these types of moments. I have been building my flexibility practice, but it does not offer the same release (yet?).

Have a terrific week!
