Still feeling motivated! I'm taking a different approach this time. I'm not focused so much on melting pounds quickly and reaching a goal weight. That is still important to me of course, but my REAL goal is time. I want to keep doing what I am doing for a full year and I'm taking it one week at a time. In the past, I'd always gotten to about 6 months, lost a good bit of weight, quit making good choices and then gained it all back.

It was natural for me to have some weeks where I did not lose weight. I track other metrics like energy level, better food choices, waist, sleep hours, etc, b/c relying solely on the scale can lead to disappointment.

This is smart. You are also giving yourself a longer time to experiment with food options to find a way of eating that is satisfying at a lower calorie level than what was "normal" in the past. One that you genuinely enjoy. Ultimately, at your one year mark, you want to have a new vision of what or how to eat to avoid going back to the old ways. Hope you have success this time!

we all struggle with the ups and down of weight loss. until we find a new way of life they are all "diets". the fact that your words say you are willing to be patient really shows that you are seeing that. I lost 60 lbs then lost my way. I too am learning to be patient and change my way of life. good for you. I can give you 1 piece of advice. carbs are nobodies friend. and overeating never solves any problem. stay strong and remember that you are worth it and you will succeed. good luck on your new journey.
