It has been a rough week. On Monday when I got to work I learned by best friend who I work with had a stroke. She had it a 1:00 am and her husband did not find her until 6:30 am. She is doing OK now and in nursing care facility getting therapy. It has been difficult seeing her like that but she is fearless and I know she can get through this.

Then the kids went to Mexico and I had dog patrol. My dog Caitie has been having back leg problems for quite a while and when I got home Thursday night she was at the bottom of the stairs and could not get up. She had defacated herself. I have no idea how long she had been there. I did get her up and she could walk so I took them outside as usual. She fell three times outside. When I brought them in she could not get up the stairs in the mud room. She is almost 80 pounds and it was a tricky job helping her up the stairs. I am not as young as I used to be. To make a long story short she could not get upstairs to living room and bedrooms so I tried to sleep downstairs with her in a small sofa.
By morning it was evident I had to take her to the vet and I had to put her to sleep. I broke my heart. She was 10 years and 7 months old and a sweet, sweet doberman. I miss her terribly but I know I made the right decision for her.

I spoke with my daughter this morning and she and her husband are having a grand time. They need the time away just to enjoy each other and unwind. I makes me happy knowing what a good time they are having.

Well I have burdened you long enough about my sorrows. I am doing pretty good on my eating in spite of my trials. It is work but I will get through it OK. Bye for now Keep smiling and smell the roses.

I'm so sorry to hear abour your Caitie. Iknow how heartbreaking it can be but we do have to be brave and do what is best for them and put them first. Glad to hear Moose and her OH are having a good time. It'll do them both good. Keep up with the good eating in spite of everything that is happening. I can smel the roses and see your grin. ((Hugs))
