up in the last month. I don't weigh in weekly; as the scale depresses me. I'm into clean eating for one meal a day.

I don't weigh myself daily. Once a week at most! Sometimes, the scale is our worst enemy. Instead of rewarding myself with food, I reward myself with a trip the nail salon, go out to the movies, buy a new book, etc. The reward mentality is good, but try reframing it to: I am doing this for my health so that I can enjoy life to the fullest. I can share my meal plan with you. I went to a really great nutritionist in NYC. REMEMBER: IMPERFECTLY PERFECT! Sometimes, it's about letting the moment pass or replacing an unhealthy urge with a healthy one. Sweets for an apple or berries, chips for Mary's crackers, a candy bar for a GoMacro bar, etc. Let me know how I can help.

those are good suggestions. What health plan are finding most useful? I'm working on food substitutions; but, hate exercising and even getting out in the cold in MN

I do the Whole30 diet. Here is the link to the site. I can give you exact portions and recipes I eat. https://whole30.com/whole30-program-rules/ I feel your pain. I watch YouTube videos and exercise indoors. Classical stretch, pilates, find what you like by searching for fitness pros on YouTube. Let me know how else I can help. I also practice Qui Dong, it's an older form of Tai Chi, helps with the emotional stuff.

I can see where this diet would work; but, it is extremely strict; so of course, it will have good loss and good eating habits. Just not sure at this time; with so much stress of caring for elderly parents and more; I need the stress of such a strict diet; but, I have bookmarked the site, thanks for sharing

Of course, it's just a guideline. Do what's right for you. Baby steps. Maybe cut out white sugar and white carbs. Eat more veggies and protein. It's never all or nothing. There are healthier sweet and salty alternatives. GoMacro bars is one of my favorites when I'm craving a candy bar, it's satisfying. The cashew caramel is really good. Much cheaper if you buy a case on Amazon than buy an individual bar, but there are a lot of good flavors. Instead of chips, I reach for Mary's Crackers (lots of varieties). Do the best you can. I totally understand. I took care of my grandmother who had dementia, went to school, worked full-time, dealt with my parent's divorce and my first breakup- I wasn't ready then, but I made little changes. Stopped eating after 6 PM, limited snacking to apples, berries, carrots, celery, etc. baby steps. All the best to you.

I just finished a whole 30 Jan 31. Yes I lost weight. 19 lbs and 11 inches. It is strict but goodness I am loving how I feel about food. Even if you don't plan on it being a lifestyle change do it for 30 days. It does reset your metabolism.

Melodiecuffin, what are you talking about that reset your metabolism, "a whole 30 Jan 31" what? Thank you.

Whole 30 can reset your metabolism. Just by giving it a food holiday with no grains, no dairy, no sugars , processed foods or alcohol. It can help speed it up. Go to whole30.com for more information.

From the website After 30 days of strict abstention from these classes of foods, they claim, you’ll have “reset” your body so that your metabolism works better and you are no longer subject to systemic inflammation. Testimonials on the site, including those from health professionals, state that the program helps with conditions as varied as asthma, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, depression, anxiety, insomnia…and, of course, weight loss.
