All is well; I'm just a bit confused! I'm considering changing my goal weight to 170 lbs. Using my BMI, I should weigh 160. Right now at 5'8"-192 and wearing a size 12, I feel that may be a bit too thin for me. All I wanted was fit into a size 10 on a good day. I never had big hips or thighs; I just gain weight on my stomach. Now that I lost 5 1/4 inches off my lower abs I'm not fixated on pounds. People have noticed my weight loss and are surprised that I weigh 192; they think it is far less. So which is the healthiest thing to consider: inches or pounds? I must say even though I know better, psychologically when I step on the scale and see 192 lbs, for a split second I’m disappointed then I move on.

Losing the weight is healthier for your heart, back, knees, and any other part that gets loaded down by too much weight. Losing the inches is a nice indicator you are losing fat..especially when it is around your midsection! Losing over 5 inches around your belly is awesome! For me, I focus on the pounds. My small stature cant afford to carry around a lot of extra weight. Maybe for you, inches are better. Losing both is by far the best! Keep up the great results!
You might think Im nuts, but I go by the rule of thumb..100 pounds for 5' and 5 pounds for each inch above. Id give myself at most 10 pounds over that for cushion..but thats it.

I'm tall too (5'7") and people don't believe how much I weigh either. I think a size 10 is great for your height if that is where you are comfortable. Cutting carbs really gets rid of the belly fat. As long as you are in a healthy range I'd say you get to where you are comfortable. I might shoot for the top range of what is the healthy range for your BMI, but again, if you are muscular you might do better with a little more weight.
