Still having trouble making time for more physical activity during the day and varying what I eat. How do people with full time jobs and going to school find time to work out regularly and eat right? There aren't enough hours in the day, and if there were, I'd be exhausted.

Struggling with it myself. I don't have school, but do have a full time job with a 1 hour commute to and from. I do bring my lunch - that seems to help. Nothing fancy - most times peanut butter and jelly sandwich with some healthy snacks thrown in. I am trying to figure out when is the best time to work out for me. Ideally it's the morning before work, but I like my sleep. So I'm struggling with that transition. I know it's possible to get it all in and look and feel fabulous....just trying to figure out how. :)

I totally hear you. I am out of school now but had the same issue. I tried to sneak in exercise where ever I could. I would go on walks between classes and always had my workout gear with me incase I had a free hour before or after either work or school (both had a free gym I could use). Alot of times I would study for a test or read a text book on the elliptical. Also make the most out of your weekends so as not to fit too much in an weekdays and stress yourself out. As far as eating, I would carry around things with me that I could snack on that were healthy and did not need refrigeration for example: nuts, granola, meal bars, apples, pears, bananas, celery & pb, turkey jerky, pb&j sandwiches, crackers & hummus, etc. I would always be snacking at work and in class. I would also eat out a lot since I was on the go but would choose things like fast-food salads or subway only. Feel free to contact me if you want any other tips! You can do it! The most important part is to do what you can no matter how little and do not stress yourself out.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I guess it's easy to get frustrated, but your tips made me realize maintaining the right balance of everything is very do-able!

I have the same issues and to be honest, I live in a condo building with a very nice fitness center and a pool...I should have no excuse! However, I find it very difficult to come home after a 9 hour day, make a healthy dinner, and then hit the gym. I was walking during lunch at work, but the weather turned on me this week so I have stayed indoors. I have been doing well following my food plan. I either have a nutrigrain or a carnation instant breakfast (no sugar added) with a scoop of benefiber for breakfast. Snacking I have been having a pouch of tuna with a little lite miracle whip, protein bar, or a cheese chunk/sring with a V8. I've been really focusing on increasing my protein when snacking because I had fallen into the carb trap there. Dinner can be a weakness, but I have recipes that are relatively low calorie and YUMMY! I make more than enough so that I have leftovers for lunch or later that week for dinner when I find that I am crunched for time. For instance this week I made chili, southwest chicken with black beans, and sweet & sour beef and these items have been what I have been eating most of the week for lunch/dinner...in fact, a small cup of chili can be great as a 2:30 snack! Not sure if any of you can access my cookbook, I have a number of recipes there that are "wawiting approval" or "pending". They are variations of higher cal recipes or other weight program recipes with some of my own personal variations. You are all welcome to take a peek if you can.

Wow sounds like good stuff. Yeah I always end up eating more carbs than I really want to because I never know what to snack on. I definitely need to add more protein to my snacks and meals. I'm not a very good cook, but I'm trying to create some healthier dinners. I'm definitely going to check out your recipes, the chili sounds great!
