Making a grocery list and it is turning out to be a monster!

QUESTION for my FS PEEPS: How do you maintain a manageable grocery bill and still get the green leafys and all the other stuff that goes with a health way of eating?

It's a hard thing to do lately, well since COVID. Coupons & sale prices on non-produce items. Question "Do I need it?" on EVERYTHING else.

when buying fresh produce, don't buy in bulk, just buy what you know you will eat over the next couple of days. It goes bad fairly quick, if you keep waste down you save money. So you have to shop more frequently and you can catch in store daily specials

Thank you All! I was careful and able to save some on usual purchases. Off to a nearby farm market tomorrow for produce. Also, NSV - didn't get fast food. Came home and made a healthier supper than any fast food joint had to offer.

Congrats Darc! Leaving fast food in the dust is awesome, cooking for yourself is healthier and saves money.

I find it cheaper to go to the farmer's market every Saturday and stock up on in season fruit and veggies. Nice and fresh, more flavorful, last longer and less expensive, plus you are supporting the local economy, which is important to me. i only purchase what I can eat in a week, unless it's in season berries, which I buy larger amounts of and freeze and put up to enjoy later. Also, when you go shopping, shop the outside aisles, most of the unprocessed stuff is located on the outside aisles. I mainly shop at a local coop I belong to that carries mostly local and organic items.

@debrafrederick was able to get fruits and veggies for the family this week for around $60! Felt good about that! Thank you! @CarbAbuser and @ZenusWarrior Princess I had a massive grocery list! I cut it down and then did it again while in the store. Thank you all for your support!
