Good Monday Morning!

First of all, I'm sorry I'm late! :)

I slept so good this morning that I simpy couldn't be bothered to get my butt out of bed!

It's so rare that I sleep like this, so I figured I'd take advantage of it.

I suppose it's a good thing, the worry free, relaxing sleep. It doesn't happen too often these days, so I really treasured this morning, and took my time. I feel great now, having done this.

Of course, the downside is that I didn't exercise. I didn't journal before leaving for work (which is where I am typing this), and I am generally not very prepared to be here today.

I have not brought lunch, but I know what to get to make it a wise food choice. I have meetings this afternoon, and I'm glad that it's after lunch.

...

So, this is week where I will meet with the surgeon and everyone else to prep for surgery. The surgery itself is Monday next week. This means that I technically will be admitted to the hospital Friday, but I think I get to go home for the weekend. Why wouldn't I? I don't want to stay there just staring at the walls, and I am sure they don't want the cost of me staying there either. So I will do what I can to get to go home, and then come back either Sunday evening or Monday morning to be ready for surgery.

I'm looking forward to it, but it's also making me anxious. I don't think I am scared of it any longer, just nervous as I have never had ANY surgery before. I simply don't know where to put my thoughts or how to prep for this - more than what I already do.

My focus this week will be on eating right (and light!), no snacks, plenty of exercise. Since I already skipped it this morning, I will compensate when I get off from work. I will either take a long walk or get on the bike.

I kinda hurt my thigh yesterday, by sitting down playing my bass. I am not sure what happened, but it feels like I pulled something in my inner thigh. It's not a severe pain, but it's enough to call for my attention. I hope it'll be gone throughout the day, so I can bike. Also, I don't want to risk anything when it comes to the surgery. I don't think it'll matter, but I don't want them to want to wait just because of some silly little detail.

So I will evaluate if it is safe to work out, and if it is then I'll do it, if it's not then I'll find something else to do.

...

So, since it's Monday, I have the 4th and final episode of Paul McKenna Will Make You Thin for you. I hope you'll like it, and those of you who have followed it - I hope you have benefitted from it. I know I have learned a ton from it - and gotten so many good tools to use from here on.

Enjoy.

I am at work, so I won't be too chatty in this journal. I will try to get up in time to write more tomorrow.

Life is good!

King, I would eat nicely this week. You will be going without food for surgery for who knows how long, and hospital food is not that great. So I would not necessarily cheat this week, but "bump it up" a little bit. Plus your body may need some reserves for that fasting you will be doing. Go ahead, have that chocolate, you deserve it! XD I can tell you this, when your recovering from surgery, and on drugs, you dont want to be laying there starving (you will be), and then only have crappy food, and then realize the past week you could have ate better. However, do be mindful of what your doing.

I appreciate it, JP, and that is pretty much my approach this week. I want to make sure that I come down a wee bit in weight, though, but without starving. Then again, I never starve, why start on that now, right? Eating light for me simply means finding foods that are not weighing a ton - as they'll take ages to process for me - but find foods that are nutritionally sane, and fulfilling, without me eating a full pound of food at every meal. Chocolate? The thing with that (as you probably know) is that one piece usually isn't enough. It's simply easier to not get into it.

Sounds like a sensible plan.... Great about the sleep,I know how difficult it is for you to get a decent night in. Take it easy on the bike exercise if there is any pain. Even walking is better than nothing - and you don't want to "push" yourself and get injured... That takes too long to get over and you will probably 'move' differently after the op, to get comfy or stop any associated aches and pains... So may need that inner thigh muscle. Have a good day at work...I hope you get everything done that you need to, in preparation for the time you are having off.

You'll need protein for healing...don't "waste" it all on carbs :-)

I know I tease you in regards to chocolate! lol, sorry. I am defective in that way. Just know with Surgery and anesthesia you will have a fast beforehand (Sometimes 24 hours), so you want to be ready for that and not go in "depleted".

Isn't a great night of sleep so wonderful? I am so grateful to you for posting the Paul McKenna videos. I am using them to stay focused and on track and they are so helpful. Have a fantastic week KingKeld!

Joyful, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. Sadly, that's the last of the public broadcast shows. They're great though. I'd recommend saving the links to watch them again, they keep the motivation flowing. :)

JP, I know you're twisted like that. That's one of the things that makes you cool in my book. :)

I am so madly excited about your surgery. I wish you'd take before and after pics, and journal the recovery, but I know that would be SUPERpersonal. Still... CRAZY!! *hug*

when I had my surgery it was: no food after midnight the night before surgery. and only clear liquids for the first 2 days after - chicken broth, water, juice, & jello (yeah, jello counts as a liquid i guess?) Your digestive system is the last thing to 'wake up' from anesthesia. OH, boy waking up from anestehsia = pain! They have to know your pain level before they can give the right kind/amount of medication. Took 3 tries before anything helped me. don't be brave and underplay how much it hurts.

I won't give any advice, as mine would just be repetitive... I'll bet your lack of sleep has been due to the impending surgery though! In recovery you'll get more sleep, so don't keep it on your mind TOO much... I am so excited for you and can't wait til you're back and reporting results and such... Sending happy thoughts your way!

Based on you recomendation, I bought that book. I still need to read it though. :-) Good luck on your surgery.
