I had a new experience yesterday. Got a mammogram, that's not the new part. I went into the office expecting perky cute office staff that I would resent just because of their looks. Not the correct attitude, I know, it's just how past experiences have played out. I got to the desk to check in and the two ladies there are a substantial but larger than me. They each had make-up on and brushed their hair, so they 'girled' better than I did, but I was a lot skinnier. I finished checking in and sat down to wait for the procedure. My mind went to the person who would be doing that. She just HAD to be the office cute, perky, skinny, beautiful girl that I would be jealous of. I get called back by another very average looking, weighed more than me girl. Again, make-up was on point, hair looked nice. I was the skinniest girl there!!!!! This has never happened in my life! I'm still not sure how to digest the interaction. I feel like I should go buy make-up and try to look more girly (that is really not my style) and I can't really celebrate with ice cream. I was just so odd. How do you react to situations like this where, nothing against the people around you, you're not used to being 'that girl'? Suddenly I don't look like the fat girl, I just look like a girl with crappy taste in clothes.
