Today I am up a pound, but I will not be discouraged. I am exercising, eating well, and drinking my water. PMS and body shock is causing the issues right now. However, I am losing inches, feel tons better, have no joint pain, have a positive mindset, and am just plain happy. :)

Can already see a pattern forming. Need more protein and less carbs and fats. I am working towards 3 protein shakes a day. I feel better when I have the protein.

Last night I was talking with my husband about how things were going with the weight, exercise, house cleaning, etc. From out of the blue I said, "This time is different, I refuse to give up on myself." Wow, where did that come from??? I have had an inner battle all of my life feeling that I had been given up on by those who were supposed to care for me and nurture me. I have never thought about that before. As I reflect on this, I can see where this comes from. Major light bulb moment for me. I have been an all or nothing person. Either I am actively losing weight, etc or I am totally not. I give others a lot more leeway in life. If my fruends mess up, I encourage them to make amends, make changes, and get back on with their goals. If I happen to eat something not in my plan, ok, deal with it and get on with it.
My husband has never given up on me. I asked him why. He said matter of factly, "Because I love you and I believe in you." Wow!!!!! Mary, I love you and I believe in your ability to conquer the weight and to keep it off.

My natural tendency is to “solve” everyone’s problems, concerns, etc. Example, today a co worker was asking for a new date stamp and I went to show her where it was. My supervisor told me, “Mary, Stop. Lynn can get it herself. She is capable of that.” I was at first, embarrassed to be called out like that, but then realized that I was trying to solve or help my co worker and solve her problem. I shouldn’t just assume that everyone needs or wants my help.
In the past, this would have set off a binge or need to eat to cover up my feelings of embarrassment. I would have been upset that the person did not let me help resolve the issue. Today, I am choosing to journal instead of eating. I choose to notice what I am doing wrong and choose to handle it in a different way.

I choose to be happy and positive by:
1. Walking daily
2. Drinking at least 64 ounces of water
3. Surrounding myself with positive people
4. Walking away from negativity
5. Eating healthy. Staying away from sugars.
By doing these things, I am changing my life for the better.
My current goals:
1. I will be responsible for my happiness
2. Have more energy
3. Be a great spouse.
