Tattoo and weight loss question. I really want to get started on my arm piece but wonder if it would be better if I waited until I got to my goal first and then start it? I still have 30 or so pounds left to lose.

I'm no expert but I have quite a few large tattoos and have yoyo'd weight up and down 50lbs a few times and it never affected the appearance of my tats. if you were going to lose a drastic amount of weight I would say wait but I can't see 30 lbs. affecting a tattoo unless it was in an area like stomach. ask the artist you plan to see first tho, they would know for sure.

I talked to the guy who does my tattoos and he doesn't see any problems with doing it now. I have a large piece on my back and if anything I think it looks better now. I would like to tone my arms more and didn't know if that would effect the tattoo or not.

This is a great question keep us updated if you get it now or if you get it after you hit your goal. I am getting mines done after I hit my goal because I am getting my left lower hip towards my thigh tatted. My tattoo artist said the same thing that he didn’t think it would make a difference but I personally rather hit my goal first. 😊

My opinion, it sounds like a great way to reward yourself for reaching a goal. Plus,if you're looking to change your arm (muscle vs fat) by working out on your way there, it might affect the appearance.
