*Switched to Brown/Red Rice*
I don't know why I haven't done this before. It tastes better. Though yes, a bit more expensive. But really, now that I'm cooking it, its actually not. for 1 cup of red/brown rice, you need to put 3 cups of water. The rice produces more too. Not bad.
Plus all the added nutrients.
(Note: I'm an asian where rice is a staple food)

Went out to eat at Olive Garden (an Italian restaurant)and had a chicken parmesan sandwich. 750 calories but now I am back on my usual eating. I am Italian and love Italian food. Italians like a lot of high calorie food that is why they are on the most part big. We love our food. I hadn't done that since I started about 5 weeks ago.

My spouse is Japanese-Canadian so we eat a lot of rice, too. Switching from white rice to genmai (Japanese brown rice) is one of the best things we ever did. The nice thing about genmai is it uses the same amount of water as white rice. It has a lovely, nutty flavour and I think the price is about the same, too.

I don't eat much rice but when I do I will eat brown rice. It sounds like it is better for us also.

oh wow! Iamaitresse I love Maki. :) Yes, it does have a nutty flavor and I love that. I did jump ropes and switched to brown rice. Then hey, I am 2lbs lighter immediately. ^ ^.

Yes if you go to a chinese/filipino/any asian restaurant, sometimes you just need to ask for brown rice. ^ ^.
