MamaCabral7's Notizen, 17 Aug 20

It pains me to post this weight gain, as I was doing well losing steadily over a year. And to know that in just 6 months to gain it back, is heart wrenching. And embarrassing. But, none the less, here it is, and here I am. Covid 19 has not been good to my stress levels and mind. I am currently teeter tottering with virtual learning, and I am afraid that if in-person classes do not begin, I may not have a job come 2021. I know it's hard for all, but for my emotional well being, the extreme change and the unknown, does not sit well with me. Hence the weight gain. LOL. Anywho, the only thing I can control is my weight. I lost control, and I refuse to carry on without having at least this ONE THING in control. So here is to new beginnings, new enlightenment, new courage, and new strength. Thank you to those who have checked in with me the last few months when I went AWOL.

Many of us have done the 'come back' before and this time you know what to do so just do it! Good luck!!!

Be encouraged. I just started my own comeback and although I only gained a few pounds, I was still a little discouraged. Better to be back trying again than leaving things as they are!

I have started over every summer, lay in bed and think what I can eat that is healthy the next day. This is the first time I have done more then think about it . Yes, I have gained because of Covid 19 as long as we try there is hope.

I am a teacher in Pennsylvania and our in-school teaching rules are changing daily. It continues to be very stressful. I completely agree with you that my health, nutrition, and exercise is something that I CAN control. I know getting myself back on track will only help me to deal with the new teaching challenges. Best of luck to you! Your positive words are helping me to stay motivated!!

I think COVID is affecting everyone this way, it's a once in a lifetime complete 180 change in lifestyle. We can all forgive ourselves for falling off the rails. You've got this moving forward!!

You are taking the first step by realizing that you need to get back on track. Now it's time to put one foot in front of the other. You were doing it pre Covid, you can do it again. You have the tools and support from FS friends. (and hopefully family n friends in your life as well) We are all here to support you!💜💜💜

Social isolation was very hard for me. My adult daughter moved in and out 3 times since March and my 18 year old son with disabilities moved back in. Gained 15 pounds between cooking for them and copious amounts of wine to stay calm. I quit baking and drinking and have taken the weight back off quickly. But deep in depression myself.

Don't despair, when I was your age I lost and gained it all back countless times. I finally made up my mind to lose it and keep it off and now when the scale goes up 5 lbs I get right back on my diet regimen and get it back off. It is easier to lose 5 lbs than it is to lose 25 or start from scratch. No need to be embarrassed, we have all done it.

Keto can help. I am 78 and have lost 36 lbs on it since January, to my amazement! Have yo-yoed for too many years. Added Sirti foods to my keto menu and it went even faster. JoJo chocolate, (in moderation about 1/2 bar a day) almonds, walnuts, strawberries. Not too painful at all. I was 198. Happy that is gone. I can reach my toes, tie my shoes, pick up things from the floor without panting and puffing, and, although I know I am aging, I feel younger. I am allergic to wheat, mildly, enough to get bloating and exhaustion from it, and leaving it out has made a great difference too.

We all get there and have to just stay true to our long term goals.

It’s tough, I know! You got this though! Winning means never giving up, and you sure aren’t giving up! Congratulations on your previous weight loss, and you’ll get there again!
