My snowed in day yesterday went well & I did my home "Deck of Cards" workout, got caught up on paperwork, bookkeeping, etc. plus took time for me to read (I'm reading "The Book Thief" -- it's really good) & watch a movie last night ("Soul Surfer" about the competitive surfer who was attacked by a shark & lost her arm). Today, though, I'm out of here!… workout this morning & a facial this afternoon… yes, I am very fortunate & blessed!
I ordered 2 new toys/gadgets -- the FitBit Force & Scale. The scale came yesterday & the force is "on the truck for delivery" today. I've been reading about these type gadgets in so many journals here, so thought, I'd give it a try. I've also been hearing about in journals & realizing that its important to keep things interesting & mix things up to help stay motivated. There was a time that I thought I was looking for a diet, or a meal plan, or a way of eating or working out that was the magic solution for me & would last a lifetime. But, what I've found along the way, for me, is that I enjoy reading about & researching health, new trends & findings, etc., and that trying new things, mixing it up, keeping what works & discarding the rest, is what is working for me now, keeps me motivated, and is a piece of my "big, new life" that's a a keeper.
The new scale has my weight down a little, but my body fat was up to 19%, which is still low, I know, for a women my age & probably more realistic than my old scale's determination. It links the scale results to a log online which will include the force results when I get that set up too. The Force keeps track of steps, calories & sleep quality which Im's especially eager to monitor. I've been sleeping well again this week (DH has been traveling but is home tonight), so it comes just in time to see what happens over the weekend. Since the weekends can be more of a challenge for me eating-wise too, it'll also give me the opportunity to use it this weekend as I work again to come up with strategies and build new healthier weekend habits. But before I get ahead of myself though, I'll start this one day in prayer --
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen.
And, I'll pray, breathe, log, journal, post & express my way on this one day and through each one meal, moment, bite, thought & emotion. I'm so grateful for each of you cuties, my family & IRL friends, no major snow forecast in the near future, and having the health & wealth to live this life I love including getting out for a workout this morning & having a facial this afternoon. xoxox
