6/5/11 144.8lb, 40.6%bf. Knee pain stable, limping but no crutch, swelling mostly down but varies. The BEST thing is that I have learned that the way I've been feeling (extreme fatigue, depressed, flu like, flushing) is a side-effect of the cortisone injection. Can't tell you how relieved I am--will never have another one. The power of the internet is amazing--very few have these side-effects (relatively) but for those that do it's helpful to know you're not crazy! I am going to give myself credit for not falling off the Atkins wagon despite my low spirits.

Some of those side effects sound a lot like the 'atkins flu' also, ... you may want to try some chicken broth to be sure your sodium, and electrolytes are being balanced. Glad you're starting to feel a bit better :)

just read your last 3 posts--thank you! Yes, those side-effects do sound like Atkins flu so I ruled that out by carefully adding foods and electrolyte drinks to see if I improved--which I didn't. It's definitly a drug effect which will eventually wear off but it could be a long time. Agree with your doc suggestion. Unfortunately won't be back in that State for a couple of weeks (I live in one state and work in another). There is a profound message in here somewhere for me--I'll let you know when I figure it out :)
